Martha was born about 1774 +/- in Bute Co., NC. In
1794 Caswell Co., NC she gave birth to an illegitimate
son who was fathered by "Jesse Brintle" also of Caswell
Co., NC. On March 27, 1798 Martha married Gower
Whittamore (aka: Whitemore/Whittemore) in Caswell Co.,
NC.
Gower
(aka: Gowan)
was a private in the War of 1812, and fought under Maj
Gen Carroll - and he died on January 30, 1815. Martha
died December 17, 1826.
