Loty was also known as Letsy and she was born about 1804
and died after 1860 in Illinois. In census records
she states she was born in Tennessee, but there is
anecdotal information that she may have actually been
born in Caswell Co., NC. This is based on the fact that
her father Henry Dickens Sr. appears to have been in NC
until about 1805 - after that time he then migrated his
family to TN.
Loty was widowed twice. She married her first husband in
1824 who was James Wood Pendarvis born about 1803 in TN
and died in 1842 in Illinois. Loty married her
second husband in 1850 who was Caleb Peacock and he died
after 1860 in IL. With James, she had nine children, and
apparently one child with Caleb.
